This is the original Nikon EN-EL4a battery for the D300 with MB-D10 vertical grip. Works perfectfly. The charge lasts forever. Don’t buy the generic replacement for this battery, they DON’T work. I’ve tried 3 different generic brand & none of them work. I finished up wasting more time & money. Just go with the Nikon & your safe.

I place a freshly charged one in my D3 and have taken at least 2000 pics with it and it’s still showing full charge.
Outstanding.
Why save a few $$ buying an off brand that may or may not work (be VERY careful with Lithium batteries!!)
Just spend the extra few $$ and get the real thing.

When I bought my D3x I also bought 2 of these as extra backup. After using my D3x extensively in Greece I found I really didn’t need the extra batteries. On one charge I was taking 700+ photos per day casual shooting and I still had 75% charge left!!! This battery is quite incredible. I calibrated all three during charging and the accuracy is impressive, along with the information show of the number of shots taken on a charge. Highly recommend the quality and performance.

I bought this as a spare for my D3 and to rev up the speed of my D300 used with the optional BL-3 cover on the D300 vertical battery grip..it’s excellent to have it on standby! This battery could last a long long time but nobody would feel secure without having one on reserve!

The improved version of EN-EL4. More powerful than my original factory battery. Nikon quality through out, and even at 2-3 times the price of after market replacement batteries this real Nikon battery is by far the better deal. More total exposures and holds a charge longer in the camera. When looking for a back up battery for my D2X many other’s terrible reviews of those other replacement types convinced me to buy this factory version. I can’t and won’t take a chance on poor equipment. In my life I’ve frequently found that you don’t save money when you save money.

The EN-EL4a is the finest battery Nikon has produced to date. It is powerful, reliable, and it holds a charge noticeably longer than any of its predecessors. I view it as the heart of my Nikon D3 system. During critical shoots, I accurately monitor the condition of the EN-EL4a via the setup menu on the D3. It reveals the number of exposures made with it, the percent of charge remaining, whether it needs calibration, and its estimated lifespan. Using this procedure, the EN-EL4a has never let me down. A second EN-EL4a for backup is recommended, as a full charge takes a small over an hour.

This is a serious battery and the first reviewer seems confused when he states that this battery both does and does not work with the MB-10 (???)
This is the original equipment battery for the new Nikon D3 which reviewer Bjorn Rorslett claims to have gotten 5198 D3 images from a single charge — in Norway, in the winter!
This is a 5 star battery. D3 owners may also wish to buy the $20 BL-4 spare battery compartment door to make swapping batteries simple and quick.
Although I have yet to really NEED my spare, I certainly wouldn’t go out on a job without one.

By far a superior battery. Charges very well lasts for thousands of shots in Raw mode.
